Filling Up The Barn

Finally decided to get this achievement (Filling Up The Barn) completed. Just went to all four home cities and bought up all of the cheap normal speed mounts. It's going to be very expensive to get to the next level though. 8 Gold per mount is quite cheap, 80 Gold is another matter.

Critter Gitter

My Rat Army on parade. I managed to get this achievement today on my second go. Initially I tried to tame a bunch of cats outside the crazy cat lady's house. Unfortunately, I ran out of cats and accidentally shot one dead. I was going to go back to Howling Fjord and use the Critter Bites on the Fjord Penguins as they appear in groups of 10-15. Unfortunately, the cool down on my hearthstone still had 45 Min's to run so I started to look for closer alternatives. After seeing this video, the Deeprun Tram in Ironforge seemed to be the way to go. Easily and quickly done in the end.

Silver in the City

I got the Silver in the City achievement shortly after getting A Penny For Your Thoughts. Not much more that I can add to what I said in the previous post. Now I only need a few more gold coins to complete There's Gold In That There Fountain. Ahhhh and with that comes "The Coin Master".

A Penny For Your Thoughts

This is the second time I have settled down to a few hours fishing to work on this quest 'A Penny For Your Thoughts'. The first time around I got this many copper coins as well. Just over three hours and 80+ copper coins, as many silver coins and 20 Gold coins. Once you get the copper and silver coins they are really only good for vendoring. The gold coins however can be thrown back into the fountain to increase your chances of fishing up more coins. Doing this really does increase the number of coins fished up, so if you are going after these achievements don't hang onto your gold coins. Throw them back in.

Pengu - My New Vanity Pet

Now that I am exalted with the Kalu'ak I was able to buy and add this little guy to my collection. I let him watch me fishing in Dalaran today. probably the last time he'll be let out. I don't usually get my vanity pets out. Don't really need to when you have a bloody great Gorilla as a combat pet.

Tuskarrmageddon

Today I finally completed the reputation grind with the Kalu'ak . The sole reason for getting exalted with the Kalu'ak was to get this Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole. I couldn't resist taking a little snapshot of myself fishing with it in the Dalaran fountain.

After doing all of the normal Kalu'ak related quests I just had to do three dailies until I reached exalted. These are;
Preparing for the Worst in Borean Tundra, Planning for the Future in Dragonblight and The Way to His Heart... in Howling Fjord. All of these were very easy to do each day but only paid half of what daily quests pay in regions like Icecrown.

I was so chuffed at getting my new fishing pole that I hearthed to Dalaran to level my fishing skill from 420 to 450. Three hours of fishing. Now that's a grind.

King of Dire Maul

I haven't been much of a Dungeon/Raid kind of player. So it's only now that I have started to explore some of the old instances. Today I took a stroll through the Dire Maul instance in order to complete "King of Dire Maul".

Macro Setup for Multiple Toons

I am in the process of writing an article on quickly setting up macro's for multiple characters. Keep an eye out for it over the next week or so.

Lvl 62 - Hellfire Peninsula

Have managed to complete all quests in the Outland starting area. I have also managed to equip the team with new Outland equipment. Guns have had to be discarded in favour of Crossbows for now. All of my gear has come from quest rewards and is slowly being replaced with Felscale Mail armour as it is being made and I reach the appropriate levels. Can't wait till I get to Nagrand and get the Hemmet's Elek Gun.

Pet Loyalty

One Among Many just gave me a much needed update on pet loyalty. I haven't experimented or updated my knowledge in this area for some time. A lot has changed over the past few patches and there was much I obviously did not know. I am quoting from her email as follows;

Wanted to share these things with you on pet loyalty. It is possible at lvl 70 to gain loyalty lvls with a lvl 70 freshly tamed pet. This might not have been the case initially with the expansion, but it is how it currently is set. There is a formula noted by blizzard and shown on mania's blog (petopia's blog) that breaks it down by percentage of xp needed per loyalty lvl. When you are lvl 70 there is an assumed xp amount (id have to dig up the original chatter by the blues on it) from 70-71 to make the formula still possible. I've known a few hunters to tame the lvl 70 plainstrider and have him at lvl 6 loyalty right now. The only thing I've gotta do is grind out the xp for the owl!

Heres mania's info on the lvl

www.maniasarcania.com

I must admit when I was playing my Lvl 70 Orc Hunter I wanted to tame that Lvl 70 Plainstrider. I never did thinking that I wouldn't be able to get it fully trained. Now I have got something to look forward to.
