One Among Many just gave me a much needed update on pet loyalty. I haven't experimented or updated my knowledge in this area for some time. A lot has changed over the past few patches and there was much I obviously did not know. I am quoting from her email as follows;Wanted to share these things with you on pet loyalty. It is possible at lvl 70 to gain loyalty lvls with a lvl 70 freshly tamed pet. This might not have been the case initially with the expansion, but it is how it currently is set. There is a formula noted by blizzard and shown on mania's blog (petopia's blog) that breaks it down by percentage of xp needed per loyalty lvl. When you are lvl 70 there is an assumed xp amount (id have to dig up the original chatter by the blues on it) from 70-71 to make the formula still possible. I've known a few hunters to tame the lvl 70 plainstrider and have him at lvl 6 loyalty right now. The only thing I've gotta do is grind out the xp for the owl!

I must admit when I was playing my Lvl 70 Orc Hunter I wanted to tame that Lvl 70 Plainstrider. I never did thinking that I wouldn't be able to get it fully trained. Now I have got something to look forward to.

Awesome! Let me know how it works for ya! I didn't ask the hunters a time frame, but I'm assuming it took a while for them to gain loyalty. But...they did say they play quite a few hours per day...where as I could only try to get lvls on my own for a few hours every couple of nights.
Hey, my playtime has decreased so I ditched the lvl 70 owl a while ago and decided to just lvl up a 67 one. It's gone well and the bird is almost 70. He is at loyalty lvl 6. It did take a while even at a lvl 67 bird to gain 6 loytalty lvls. I cant imagine how long itd have taken me with the lvl 70 owl.
Congrats. You seem to be enjoying the owls. I have recently been toying with boars with my team. My team has been significantly underpowered whilst waiting for training points for each loyalty level. So much so that I have gone back to my saber cat pets. I have also noticed that I have to feed my new boar pets much more frequently than my old cats. I think that I'll be staying with the cats from now on too.
