Pet Loyalty

One Among Many just gave me a much needed update on pet loyalty. I haven't experimented or updated my knowledge in this area for some time. A lot has changed over the past few patches and there was much I obviously did not know. I am quoting from her email as follows;

Wanted to share these things with you on pet loyalty. It is possible at lvl 70 to gain loyalty lvls with a lvl 70 freshly tamed pet. This might not have been the case initially with the expansion, but it is how it currently is set. There is a formula noted by blizzard and shown on mania's blog (petopia's blog) that breaks it down by percentage of xp needed per loyalty lvl. When you are lvl 70 there is an assumed xp amount (id have to dig up the original chatter by the blues on it) from 70-71 to make the formula still possible. I've known a few hunters to tame the lvl 70 plainstrider and have him at lvl 6 loyalty right now. The only thing I've gotta do is grind out the xp for the owl!

Heres mania's info on the lvl

I must admit when I was playing my Lvl 70 Orc Hunter I wanted to tame that Lvl 70 Plainstrider. I never did thinking that I wouldn't be able to get it fully trained. Now I have got something to look forward to.

Lvl 60 - WPL & EPL

Managed to get the whole team to 60 questing in WPL and EPL. Levelling has been so easy and quick since the new patch. I can do nearly two levels in a whole day of play. It's just great. Levelling up alts is going to be such a breeze now. I plan to be in Outlands from tomorrow onwards and my first task is to upgrade my gear. Outlands early quests provide some great gear as quest rewards so I am going to be a questing demon for the next couple of days. Quests provide a great way to equip the whole team with good gear at the same time. Drop's take much longer.

Level 58 - WPL

Just got back from a few days interstate. The new patch occurred whilst I was away and today was the first time that I have played it. The new faster levelling is great and coupled with rested experience means you can burn through the levels. I have been questing in Western Plaguelands and it has been fun and really easy. I am looking forward to getting back to Outlands at 60 only this time doing Alliance quests. Next week I have to go to Singapore for a bit of "Company Training" so no WoW for a week.

New to Multi-boxing?

Ellay over at Dual-Boxing.com has recently put together an article on setting up a simple multi-boxing rig using Keyclone. Good simple language and a descriptive graphic gives anyone a quick insight into setting up a multibox system. If you are seriously interested in multi-boxing then you should invest a few hours reading the forum posts on hardware and software. A lot of very good information contributed by my fellow multi-boxers can be found there.

Taking on Lvl 60 Elites

I have just moved the team to Winterspring and started questing there. One quest Strange Sources took me all the way south to Dark Whisper Gorge. There I encountered my first level 60 elite Felguard and some level 60 elite Ice Giants. I was just about to turn around and head back when I thought I would just try and kill one or two of them. During most of my levelling I have been able to use the team to defeat single elites 5 levels higher than me. I have usually had to use everything I had to win but have been able to do it with the loss of one or two pets. This time around I was just burning through them and coping with the occasional add. It was great, and a far cry from the time I used to run the other way when I encountered an elite.

Level 55 - Felwood

I have just gotten the entire team to level 55. Outland is now in sight and I hope to be there next week. Un'Goro Crater was a real pain in the ass to do. There were so many gather quests it took me 18 hours to get through them all. Azshara and Felwood were a joy by comparison. I just have to finish off a couple of final quests in Felwood and will then move onto Winterspring.

I have been using the Master Hunter's Rifle since level 38 so I thought it was about time I upgraded to something a better. I made a quick visit to the Western Plaguelands to get Farmer Dalson's Shotgun. So now the whole team is equipped with this gun. Makes for a nice increase in firepower.
